Herjólfur is the name of four car ferries that has sailed between Vestmannaeyjar to Landeyjahöfn and Þorlákshöfn. Our current Herjólfur, is our fourth one. The ferry was taken in use on the 25th of July 2019 and is the first one that is hybrid. Herjólfur IV takes 65-70 cars and 540 passengers.
Eimskip’s ferry Herjólfur sails from Landeyjahöfn (about 12km off the Ring Road between Hvolsvöllur and Skógar) to Heimaey year-round. The journey takes about 30 minutes.
